Charity Business Permit Information

Charity permits are only available to registered charities that are based within Waltham Forest. Non-profit organisations do not qualify as a charity. The registered vehicle must be used to carry out work duties as permits will not be issued for commuter purposes. Applicants must be registered with the charities commission and will be asked to justify need for this permit.

You will need to supply:

  • Proof of registration (charity registration number) and charity house address with a letter on headed paper signed by senior officer confirming your home address, employment and use of said vehicle.

Photographs of documentation will be accepted if you do not have access to a scanner.

Permits are single vehicle specific and not transferable between vehicles. Permits are zone specific and not transferable between controlled parking zones.

If you need to apply for an all zone charity permit or if your organisation is based outside of Waltham Forest and you have been contracted to carry out extensive works within the borough you must submit an evidenced business case to wfpshop@nsl.co.uk for our consideration.

Your application may be approved by our automatic checks. If this is not possible, you will be asked to upload or post copies of documents in support of your application.
